| SEEDS
institution building efforts are directed towards empowerment
of the powerless people for their socio-economic emancipation.
A series of training program for leadership development
and social awareness rising were in build in the process
of group formation. SEEDS organized people both women and
men by setting a set of criterion e.g. poor land less those
who own little land and sell manual labor for most of the
time of the year for survival. The women members of these
families and also the distress women such as divorced, widow,
abandoned separated etc. are being given priority while
forming a Samity (peoples association).

| Micro-Credit
Program |
Micro Finance
based Programs:
Micro finance is the most important and major program
of the organization. The experience suggests that
an integrated micro-credit and social development
approach can significantly contribute to achievement
of the avowed UN Millennium Development Goals (MGDs)
by 2015.
Major components of the micro finance program
are :
Micro Credit
Micro Savings
Micro Insurance
Resolving Credit Support for
IGAs:
Resolving credit support for income generation has
been considered as an essential part of SEEDS poverty
alleviation program. SEEDS identified that the reasons
of poverty are linked to the lack of capital at people’s
disposal, the non-existence of savings habit among
the masses and unplanned utilization of credit money.
SEEDS provided Tk 33,00,000 as credit to 1228 group
members for undertaking various income earning activities
like milk cow rearing, paddy husking. In addition,
926 group members received credit from their saving.

| Education
Program |
We
love our children and they love us. It is this bond
between us that will ensure a bright future for these
underprivileged children.
SEEDS believes that whether you are addressing healthcare,
poverty, population control, unemployment or human
rights, there's no better place to start than in the
corridors of Education.
Because education is both the means as well as the
end to a better life: means, because it empowers an
individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end
because it increases one's awareness on a range of
issues – from healthcare to appropriate social
behavior to understanding one's rights - and in the
process evolve as a better citizen.
SEEDS has been working for socio-economic up gradation
of the poor families in rural areas to ensure a better future
for their children since 2003. |

Health Program |
HIV
in Bangladesh remains at relatively low levels in
most at risk population groups, with the exception
of injecting drug users (IDUs) where prevalence
continues to grow. Although
national HIV prevalence
remains under 1percent among the general population
in Bangladesh, there are risk factors that could
fuel the spread of HIV among high-risk groups. Prompt
and vigorous action is needed to strengthen the
quality and coverage of HIV prevention programs,
particularly amongst IDUs.
SEEDS
provides Preventive & Awareness in HIV/AIDS
prevention activities. We are providing essential
harm reduction services for the injecting drug users
(IDUs), essential services for the commercial female
sex workers (FSWs) at Mymensingh town area.

| Environment
Program |
| Bangladesh
has the highest density of population among all countries
of the world and is the worst victim of environmental
degradation. Environmental education (EE) can help
people become aware of the consequences of their actions,
provide information to help solve environmental problems,
and build the human capacity necessary to solve and
prevent environmental problems. In this sense, Bangladesh
can save itself from environmental disasters by having
a strong, broad-based, and united environment movement
through educating its population environmentally and
developing career paths in fields related to sustainable
development. A balance between environmental stewardship
and economic development can guarantee this sustainable
future, which in turn needs sound environmental knowledge
among both experts and the population at large.
Environmental
Awareness Program:
The 1-day course is expected to enhance the general
understanding and knowledge, particularly of industrial
and commercial entrepreneurs and planners, about environment,
environmental concerns and possible actions for the
sustainable development of various sectors. Course
contents include concept of environment, as well as
on the environmental laws and regulations and on environmental
practices and applications. Enrollment is limited
to twenty five persons per course.
Fees: Tk. 2,000 per person

| Employment
Program |
| The
economy of Bangladesh fully depends on the agricultural
sector. SEEDS realized that the development of the
country socio-economic condition apparently depend
on the people of agro-based rural area. The employment
generation program of SEEDS is to proper utilize the
human resources of rural areas. This program has two
portion: - 1) Finance and undertaking and 2) Training.
SEEDS provides the finance and undertaking via Micro-credit
program for the self-employed people who want to start
their own business. The training program consists
of vocational and modern scientific agro-based program,
which helps the rural people to become more efficient.
Moreover By vocational and scientific training they
can start their own business. SEEDS believe that best
way to utilize the human resources of a dense and
agro-based country like Bangladesh is the employment
generation for the rural populace.

| Training
Program |
| Training
for preparing Project Proposal, Basic Management Training,
Fund Raising training, Community Based Family Planning,
Role of NGOs in Women's Development.
Vocational
Training: It is now widely recognized that
development is not a simply a matter of introducing
technical improvement, however appropriate they may
appear to be. What is more important is that people
are critically aware of their own situation and whenever
necessary be ready to change it. This means people’s
participation in development, which can be ensured
by developing their knowledge ,attitude and skills
through training. After mobilization and functional
education of the target children, they have to be
given need based skill training for identification,
selection and implementation of income generating
activities accordingly. such training coerces will
be arranged either at the SEEDS center. Therefore,
the skill training and their application will take
place during the last quarters of the year.
